Since 2004, Florence Tardy is a research associate in the joint research unit “Mycoplasmoses des ruminants” at the French agency for food, environmental and occupational health safety - Laboratory of Lyon (France).Epidemiology and evolution of mycoplasmoses. Diagnosis tool development. Strains diversity and virulenceassessment. In 2012, she was appointed as the Chair of the reserach unit.

 

Florence Tardy has developed a long-term expertise in diagnosis (direct and indirect) and epidemiology of mycoplasmoses in ruminants: from surveillance to molecular subtyping, virulence and resistance to
antimicrobials. Her group manages an important collection of isolates and sera with documented history.

From 2003-2004 she was an expert scientist in the Fermentation and Food Microbiology team of the Science & Global Innovation Europe group, at Interbrew N.V., Leuven, Belgium. Biotechnology developments for food safety, beer contaminations analysis, general hygiene control and innovative process follow-up.

 

She was a scientific collaborator in the Biotechnology and Biosafety Section of the Institute for Public
Health, Brussels, Belgium from 2002 to 2003 where she has gained technical expertise on contained use of Genetically Modified Organisms and pathogens.
